Mock Draft 1.0 (Ginger King)

Hello, friends. Welcome back to the Big Red Sports Machine. I’ve been wanting to talk to you, but you know why I couldn’t. I’ve been saying it for so long…like, pre-Covid long:

That’s right. All the people who said Kansas City was going to draft Jeremiyah Love, or the Broncos drafting a receiver, or the Rams drafting a corner, or the Ravens drafting a defensive end? All clickbait bullshit. You’re better off watching your kids Italian brain rot. Bambini Felicini!

Now that the initial free agency craze has settled, it’s time to move on to the main course: the Draft. This year, the Draft heads to Pittsburgh, a city that doesn’t know if it should cheer for Aaron Rogers to stay or go. Awkward. Anyway, get you Primanti Brothers sandwich Yinzers, and buckle up for our first Mock. Once again, we use the NFL Mock Draft Simulator for our mock draft needs.

No question at 1, but after that there are no guarantees. All of the teams in the Top 10, except maybe the Chiefs, have multiple holes to fill. Jets should be picking between Bailey and Reese. Bailey’s sack potential is too hard to pass up. The Giants and Browns should each walk away with a Buckeye, but which one? Sonny Styles, Carnell Tate, or Caleb Downs? A lot of people have Downs linked to the Giants, but 5’s a little rich for my blood for a Safety, plus that Giants signed 2 safeties in free agency. I don’t buy it. The Chiefs would look like absolute geniuses if Mansoor Delane is there at 9. Definitely dulls the loss of Trent McDuffie.

Middle part of the Draft should see teams addressing free agency losses, starting off with the Dolphins. The Rams should take the best tackle available. Baltimore goes back to the U well. Dallas should use both of their picks to shore up their lines.

Some interesting picks here. Whoever drafts Kenyon Sadiq will get an absolute stud. He’s this year’s Coleston Loveland, but with 4.39 speed. Look out. If the Bills don’t draft a receiver Bills Mafia will start breaking tables. Well, they’ll do that regardless, but it will be out of anger and not drunken enthusiasm. Just pick the right one. Also, will Ty Simpson make his way into the first round? The 5th year option for first round picks may be too tempting for a team to pass up. Miami may still have PTSD from its last Crimson Tide QB, but it makes sense.
