The final mock.\u00a0 After weeks (ok months) of \u201cresearch\u201d (defined to include watching an endless supply of college game tape with fistfuls of chicken wings and buckets of Coors Light) it\u2019s time to put our \u201cknowledge\u201d to work.\u00a0 So many questions heading into the Draft, so many rumors flying around; it\u2019s hard to decipher what\u2019s legit and what\u2019s bullshit.\u00a0 But that\u2019s why we\u2019re here.<\/p>\n

The question on everyone\u2019s mind:\u00a0 Will Ginger King and Roid Rage continue their streak of more correct First Round picks than Kiper and McShay?\u00a0 Ginger please, we got this locked down.\u00a0 Anyway, on to the final mock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Instant Analysis<\/strong>:\u00a0 Obviously, this is not how the First Round will shake out, as trades will throw everything off\u2026and we think there will be a lot of trades.\u00a0 Potentially starting at #2 with the Niners.\u00a0 I also think another team looking to trade down is Tennessee at 5.\u00a0 I think there\u2019s no way the Browns come out of the First Round without Myles Garrett and Mitchell Trubisky.\u00a0 I think the Browns will take Myles at #1, and then find a way to climb back into the Top 10.\u00a0 Perfect trade would be with the Titans.\u00a0 Keep your eye on that.<\/p>\n

Another trading spot will be the end of the First Round.\u00a0 I wouldn\u2019t be surprised to see a team at the top of Round 2 (say, Chicago or Cleveland if they somehow managed to screw up and not get Trubisky) trade into the bottom of the First Round to grab a quarterback.\u00a0 But why would they do that?\u00a0 Simple.\u00a0 All draft picks are required to sign a 4 year contract\u2026but only First Round picks have a team<\/u> option for a fifth year.\u00a0 If you feel that there\u2019s a player out there (usually a qb) that you\u2019re in love with, it\u2019s better to draft them in the bottom of the first than the top of the second.\u00a0 If you\u2019re right (and let\u2019s be honest, all GMs think they\u2019re right), you get them for an extra year at a good price.\u00a0 If you\u2019re wrong, well then you won\u2019t be around to not exercise the option.\u00a0 Win-win.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, I\u2019ve had Njoku to the Giants forever, and for my own selfish reasons I hope he ends up there.\u00a0 But the Giants have a terrible time keeping their picks a secret.\u00a0 There\u2019s either a front office leak, or someone like to hit the \u201creply all\u201d button on emails, but there have been multiple drafts where teams have traded up ahead of the Giants to draft the player they really want.\u00a0 In 2012, the Bucs traded up to get Doug Martin.\u00a0 Last year, the Titans and the Bears traded up to get ahead of the Giants to draft Jack Conklin and Leonard Floyd, respectively, the Giant\u2019s top 2 coveted players.\u00a0 This year, I think the G-Men are in love with Njoku and (dark horse) Zach Cunningham.\u00a0 I know they haven\u2019t drafted a first round linebacker in 30+ years but that doesn\u2019t mean they haven\u2019t tried (see Floyd, Leonard).\u00a0 I think they lose out on both of them this year and \u201csettle\u201d for Bolles, which isn\u2019t much of a settle, seeing as how he would immediately compete for the left tackle position.<\/p>\n

Big question is how much will \u201ccharacter concerns\u201d affect draft status?\u00a0 There are a handful of first round talent players \u2013 Jabrill Peppers, Reuben Foster, Gareon Conley, Joe Mixon, etc.\u00a0 I still think that Mixon doesn\u2019t get drafted tonight, because\u2026um, that video.\u00a0 But the others?\u00a0 I don\u2019t think it affects them that much.\u00a0 That reminds me:\u00a0 Hey rookies, change your social media passwords today.\u00a0 You don\u2019t want this to appear around 7:45 pm tonight:<\/p>\n
