That\u2019s me quoting Ginger King<\/a>.\u00a0 And while it\u2019s true that I had to get 7 or 8 Genny Lights deep before even powering up the laptop, at least I\u2019m not delusion.\u00a0 I\u2019m mean, the Falcon\u2019s beating the Patriots in the Super Bowl?!\u00a0 Only if Jacoby Brissett is playing (is that dude even still in the league, or is he bagging groceries in the Midwest somewhere?!) [Editor\u2019s note: despite being activated from IR for the playoff run, Brissett will likely be a healthy scratch for the Super Bowl.\u00a0 But he\u2019ll still get one of those big ass Super Bowl rings after the Pats dismantle the Dirty Birds!]\u00a0 Thanks for the note editor, I couldn\u2019t have said it better myself.<\/p>\n

The argument for the Falcons is laughable.\u00a0 The hot young quarterback—that\u2019s never played in a Super Bowl—leading a \u201chigh-powered\u201d offense against (future HOF coach) Bill Belichick and (future HOF QB) Tom Brady?\u00a0 What could possible go wrong?\u00a0 Do you know who doesn\u2019t care that the Falcons have the reigning MVP on their team?\u00a0 Or that the rest of the league has had a hard time stopping their offense?\u00a0 Or that Julio Jones seems to be a cyborg dressed in a football jersey?\u00a0 That\u2019s right, this guy…..<\/p>\n

Guess how Bill is going to crack Matt Ryan?…..Pressure.\u00a0 Guess what his plan will be for taking Julio out of the gameplan?….double coverage, bracket coverage, bump-and-run with safety help.\u00a0 Guess where they are going to catch the Falcons underprepared?….special teams.<\/p>\n

While the Falcons have built themselves an awesome football team, it\u2019s the exact OPPOSITE of the kind of team that gives the Patriots fits.\u00a0 If there is a \u201cblue-print\u201d to beating the Patriots, what is it?\u00a0 The \u201908 Giants and \u201916 Broncos should come to mind?\u00a0 No, you don\u2019t need a Manning under center….or a miraculously stupid catch (or two)…..Those teams had dominate defensive lines that could generate consist pressure (up the middle) with 4-guys, while dropping 7 into coverage.\u00a0 The Falcons can\u2019t do that.\u00a0 If anything, their defensive line, especially up the middle, is a liability.\u00a0 To generate pressure they\u2019ll be forced to send a blitzer.\u00a0 And blitzing Brady is like playing with fire, you\u2019re bound to get burned<\/del> Napalmed. The guy doesn\u2019t miss a beat.\u00a0 He checks every play at the line, aligns the blocking assignments and never misses a hot read.\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s not like they are going to throw something at him he hasn\u2019t seen (which is exactly what BB will do to Matty Ice btw).\u00a0 Oh, Dan Quinn\u2019s defense.\u00a0 Yeah, played against that…..in a Super Bowl none the less….oh, and won that game.\u00a0 Yawn.<\/p>\n

Trust me, I want Brady to get clobbered and throw an interception on EVERY pass attempt.\u00a0 That\u2019s what I root for when they play against the Bills….or the Dolphins….or the Jaguars for crying out loud.\u00a0 But it just doesn\u2019t happen.\u00a0 The guy is averaging 335 yards and 2.5 TDs in the postseason this year.\u00a0 He wakes up (next to a supermodel) and pisses excellence.\u00a0 True, he only eats baby seal liver on a bed of Kale<\/a> and goes for blood palette therapy like you or I go to the barbershop, but such is the life a rockstar.\u00a0 As much as it pains me to say it, he is the greatest quarterback of all time.\u00a0 Don\u2019t take my word for it; all of these boners<\/a> lined up on media row to say the same thing this week.\u00a0 You could argue the Texans (easily) and maybe even the Steelers have a better defense than the Falcons.\u00a0 Those teams didn\u2019t have any answers for TB12 and company, so how exactly are the Falcons going to slow down them down? Not gonna happen.<\/p>\n

No Gronk?\u00a0 No problem!\u00a0 Brady will spread the ball all over the field, exploiting match-ups and throwing his guys open.\u00a0 Seriously, Brady can take any other teams third WR and turn him into a star.\u00a0 Hello Wes Welker<\/span> Chris Hogan.\u00a0 Edelman seemingly can\u2019t be covered within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage.\u00a0 It\u2019s death by a 1,000 paper cuts when you play the Patriots.\u00a0 If they need 6-yards for a first down they get 8.\u00a0 3rd<\/sup>-and-1: QB-sneak for 2 yards.\u00a0 First-and-goal, here comes the battering ram LeGarrett Blount.\u00a0 Wait until they get Dion Lewis matched-up against a linebacker.\u00a0 Think Brady won\u2019t exploit that?<\/p>\n

I do like what the Falcons have going on the offensive side of the ball.\u00a0 Matt Ryan is peaking at the right time.\u00a0 He isn\u2019t necessarily locking onto Julio (which is exactly what I\u2019d be doing), and spreading the ball around.\u00a0 They\u2019ve done a nice job bringing in complimentary pieces to bolster their attack, mainly Mohammad Sanu.\u00a0 Perhaps there best way to attack the Patriots is their one-two punch of Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman.\u00a0 Both are excellent receivers out of the backfield and both possess game-breaking speed.\u00a0 New England\u2019s linebackers struggle in pass coverage.<\/p>\n

New England\u2019s defense does give up chunk plays; and have long been regarded as a bend-but-don\u2019t-break defense.\u00a0 But they are so well coached that they always seem to be in the right place at the right time.\u00a0 They always seem to punch the ball loose just before the runner\u2019s knee hits the ground.\u00a0 Or get their hands up just in time to deflect a ball for an interception.\u00a0\u00a0 Julio will have to work for everything he gets in this game.\u00a0 He\u2019s such a physically dominate player he could go off despite New England\u2019s efforts to shut him down.<\/p>\n

At the end of the day [narrative alert] this is a legacy cementing game for BB and TB12.\u00a0 A win here…..better yet, a beatdown here…. and they\u2019ve both blasted the GOAT conversation out of the water.\u00a0 You know Tom wants to force Goodell to hand him that Super Bowl MVP trophy (and shitty Nissan truck that he\u2019ll give to Jackie Slater for making a key tackle on punt coverage).\u00a0 And there is a little part of me (okay, all of me and the entire Bills Mafia) that wanst Brady to give Goodell the ultimate FU and retire!\u00a0 Yeah, that\u2019ll show him Tom!\u00a0 I mean, Brady and his agent \u00a0are forming their own league<\/a>.\u00a0 Said league would draw a much bigger audience if they had the greatest quarterback in the world running the show.\u00a0 Just thinking out loud here!<\/p>\n
