Bang it here<\/a> to read Ginger King\u2019s rant on why the Patriots will win<\/del>\u00a0lose the Super Bowl.\u00a0 Cliff notes version: basically, GK talks about how awesome Brady and Gronk are, but then it quickly unravels into a NY Giants propaganda piece; you can\u2019t spell Elite without Eli blah blah blah\u2026<\/p>\n

So sure, I got \u201cstuck\u201d with Katy Perry and the Seahawks.\u00a0 GK is not only disappointed that the G-Men are watching from home, but also that his boy Bruno bonerjam Mars declined an encore halftime performance.\u00a0 There is always next year buddy (spoken like a true Bills fan)!<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s get the ol\u2019 clich\u00e9s out of the way shall we?\u00a0 This time of the year you always hear \u201cdefense wins championships\u201d and \u201cyou have to be able to run the ball and stop the run\u201d.\u00a0 If that lazy analysis is all it takes then, BAM! Exhibit A:<\/p>\n

\"1st<\/a>

1st is pretty good, right?!<\/p><\/div>\n

I know what you\u2019re thinking, Seattle shouldn\u2019t even be here; this would be Rodgers v. Brady if Green Bay didn\u2019t give away the NFC Championship game.\u00a0 But I\u2019m not buying that weak ass explanation of how we got here.\u00a0 Green Bay didn\u2019t give that game away as much as the Seahawks took it from them.\u00a0 Russell Wilson, who was playing pitch and catch with the Packer secondary all day long, made plays he when he had too.\u00a0 It also doesn\u2019t hurt that Marshawn Lynch went all BeastMode in the 4th<\/sup> quarter either.\u00a0 Speaking of Marshawn\u2026<\/p>\n

\"He<\/a>

He enjoys long walks on the beach, Skittles, and making full grown men cry.<\/p><\/div>\n

Marshawn Lynch is the football equivalent of Dennis Rodman (except Lynch actually scores).\u00a0 Each takes on the persona of an over-the-top, in-your-face, stick-it-to-the-man badass (a shtick both use for their own capital gains… hey kids, buy your officially licensed BeastMode gear\u00a0here<\/a>!).\u00a0 Crotch grabs notwithstanding, it\u2019s what Lynch does on the field that matters.\u00a0 Between rushing and receiving, Marshawn tallied 1700 all purpose yards during the regular season and scored more non-passing touchdowns (17) than anyone else in the league.\u00a0 That is beastly production.\u00a0 He has great balance and agility, which, combined with his power running style makes him nearly impossible for one guy to tackle.\u00a0 New England\u2019s defensive is stout against the run, but they will have their toughest matchup of the season come Sunday.<\/p>\n

Seattle has an effective read-option element to their run game that keeps edge defenders honest just long enough to buy Lynch an extra split second to find daylight. \u00a0Should the defender get eager and commit too early, Russell Wilson is savvy enough to tuck it way and run with it.\u00a0 Speaking of Russell\u2026<\/p>\n

\"Been<\/a>

Been there. Done that.<\/p><\/div>\n

You know he isn’t going to throw four interceptions in the Super Bowl, right?\u00a0 But if he does, you know he has the mental make-up to shake it off and go make a play.\u00a0 A lesser quarterback would fold under similar circumstances.\u00a0 I imagine that said lesser QB will be watching the big game from his couch\u2026 or maybe filming another Papa Johns commercial.<\/p>\n

Wilson is 10-0 against other Super Bowl winning QB\u2019s.\u00a0 That\u2019s a funny stat, because Russell doesn\u2019t actually play against the others quarterbacks, Seattle’s nasty defense does.\u00a0 Speaking of the Legion of Boom\u2026<\/p>\n

\"Will<\/a>

Will there be cameras and microphones at the Super Bowl? Oh, than I guarantee Sherman is there.<\/p><\/div>\n

Sherman.\u00a0 Thomas. Chancellor.\u00a0 These are household names by now.\u00a0 This secondary is full of ball hawks that fly (puns intended) around all over the field.\u00a0 But their front-seven, while less unheralded, is just as formidable.\u00a0 I\u2019ve heard numerous talking heads say that New England is going to establish the run with LeGarrett Blount.\u00a0 I don\u2019t see it.\u00a0 First, we\u2019re talking about LeGarrette freaking Blount.\u00a0 Second, New England doesn\u2019t exactly impose their will on the ground, evident by their 18th<\/sup> ranked rushing attack.\u00a0 Their offensive line has gotten pushed around and has looked pedestrian at times.\u00a0 While Seattle won\u2019t have the benefit of the 12th Man (easily like the 17th<\/sup> or 18th<\/sup> best fan base in the league by-the-way\u2026..that\u2019s right, I said it) their front four will consistently make plays in the backfield.\u00a0 Haven\u2019t we already seen what this defense can do on the biggest stage against an immobile, future HOF QB with marginal run support?<\/p>\n

Lucky for us, this game won\u2019t be a blowout.\u00a0 Points are going to be a premium in what will be a closely contested game.\u00a0 In the end, Seattle\u2019s defense, running attack and Russell Wilson calm-under-fire demeanor are the difference. Give me the Hawks, 23-20.<\/p>\n
